United Kingdom to Increase Immigration Fees

The Home Office has announced updated immigration and nationality fees, which will take effect from 8 April 2026.

These revisions introduce moderate increases across most immigration categories, including visa applications, settlement applications and sponsor licence fees.

Across the majority of visa routes, including work, study and visit, application fees will rise by approximately 6-7%. Notable changes include:

  • The six‑month visit visa fee increasing from £127 to £135.
  • The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) fee rising from £16 to £20.

Although the Home Office cites inflation as the primary driver and the adjustments may appear modest on their own, they follow significant cost increases in recent years, including a major uplift to the Immigration Skills Charge in 2025 and earlier rises to the Immigration Health Surcharge.
