How Nomadic empowers its women employees to achieve their full potential in the travel industry

Globally, less than a third of leadership positions are held by women. But, at Nomadic, we recognize that greater diversity in our leadership lends to better business decision-making, more innovative approaches, and increased opportunities for women and diverse professionals to engage with our clients.

We’re proud of our ongoing recognition of true talent and our long-standing commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion – in fact, these aspects represent the very core of our values.

To mark Women’s History Month this March, we spotlight one of our exceptional female colleagues who exemplifies those values. Pamela Blakely, US-based Nomadic manager, was recently recognized by Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) as a Rising Female Leader in its WINiT Top 50 Women in Travel.

These coveted annual awards celebrate those who positively change and ignite the careers and lives of women in business travel-related industries.

Pam has demonstrated strong leadership in exploring and creating opportunities for emerging leaders to develop their skills. She works creatively and innovatively in order to improve processes, mentoring and guiding her team to deliver an outstanding client experience.

Pam oversees the Nomadic team responsible for supporting clients with business visas, passports, and consular services.

With over 13 years of immigration experience, including six with Fragomen, the world’s leading provider of immigration services, Pam leads on sourcing solutions to clients' complex international travel challenges, whilst continuing to grow her team and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation to support emerging leaders.

Kim Conway, Nomadic Director for the Americas, said, “I'm privileged to call Pam my colleague for the last ten years. She always puts our clients’ needs first and I could not be more thrilled for her that GBTA has named her a Rising Female Leader in our industry.”

Kim spoke more widely on the need for better representation of women in leadership roles. “We know that women bring different viewpoints, experiences, and ideas to the table, enhancing creativity and problem solving,” she said.

“Many of our clients serve diverse customer bases and it’s important to Nomadic to cultivate an empowered work environment that mirrors these demographics, helping to understand and meet clients’ needs more effectively.” - Kim Conway

Pam has developed long-standing relationships with clients and consulates to elevate the client journey of applying for and obtaining a visa, seizing every client interaction as an opportunity to deliver a world-class experience. With a deep empathy for the administrative stresses faced by travelers, Pam expertly guides her clients through their complex, time-sensitive cases, and mentors her team in proactively sourcing solutions to potential challenges ahead of time.

Pam is a recent member of the GBTA New York chapter where she volunteers her time and expertise as one of the many contributing voices supporting the GBTA community.

Speaking of her pride at being recognized by GBTA, Pam stated, “I’m honored to be named by my industry peers as a Rising Female Leader. Seeing women in leadership positions, increasing their visibility and representation in the travel sector, has signaled that women belong and are valued in their roles.”

“It’s great to see that increased representation of female leaders is creating a pipeline of talent, empowering and inspiring the next generation of women to pursue leadership opportunities.” - Pam Blakely

Nomadic actively recognizes the achievements of women like Pam and promotes their accomplishments as inspirational role models to others in the travel industry and beyond.
