Singapore and Mainland China Introduce Visa Waiver Agreement

A reciprocal visa waiver agreement between Singapore and China will take effect from February 9, 2024.

Presently, nationals of Singapore are permitted to enter China for 15 days for tourism or business, whereas nationals of China require a visa to enter Singapore. The new agreement will allow nationals of each other's country to enter without a visa for a single stay of up to 30 days for tourism and business.

Nationals of Mainland China may seek to stay beyond the 30 days in Singapore by applying for a visa extension online with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for up to an additional 30 days (or up to 89 cumulative days if they have immediate family members who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents).

Nationals of Singapore are not permitted to extend their stay in Mainland China.
