Singapore to Open Automated Clearance Lanes to All Nationals

All nationals will be able to use Singapore’s automated immigration clearance lanes starting in Q3 2024, whereas currently only nationals of 60 countries may do so.

This will save time when entering or exiting through Singapore’s international air, land and sea checkpoints, as travelers will not need to present passports when using these lanes. Instead, the lanes use biometric scanners to capture the traveler’s iris, facial and fingerprint details and run them through automatic national background check systems.

Singapore is the first country in the world to allow all travelers to use such a system.
