China to Introduce Stricter Exit and Entry Controls from September 2026
China will implement new Exit and Entry Administration Regulations on 15 September 2026, introducing stricter requirements for foreign nationals, employers and organizations involved in immigration processes.
Authorities will have greater powers to verify application information and supporting documentation, with increased penalties for inaccurate or misleading submissions.
The changes are expected to result in greater scrutiny of immigration applications, making it increasingly important for organizations to ensure that traveler information, invitation letters and supporting documents are accurate and verifiable before submission.
Businesses with employees travelling to China should review their current processes and prepare for a more rigorous compliance environment ahead of the new regulations taking effect.
