Under the new rules, the current 60-day visa-free stay will be reduced to 30 days and will apply to nationals of 60 countries and territories, including Australia, Canada, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, United States and several EU member states.
Nationals of Mauritius and Seychelles will be limited to 15-day visa-free stays, while citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia will become eligible for a visa-on-arrival.
Permitted activities under the visa exemption scheme remain unchanged and continue to cover tourism and certain non-work business activities, such as attending meetings, exhibitions and internal business discussions. Work-related activities will still require appropriate work authorization.
Travelers should also note that visa-exempt entries through land borders will generally be limited to two per calendar year. Frequent visitors may be asked to provide evidence supporting the purpose of their travel.
