Updates to Slovakia's Visa Processing Framework
Effective 15 July 2026, Slovakia will introduce a new Central Visa Authority (CVA) to process all visa applications.
The new CVA, which replaces the current model under which applications are handled by individual consular posts, will work in coordination with the Ministry of Interior as part of the visa decision-making process.
The reform is intended to create a more consistent visa processing experience by standardizing application handling and reducing the variation in processing times currently seen across different locations. Government processing times are expected to be approximately 40 days, with authorities aiming to achieve faster outcomes where possible.
Nomadic will continue to monitor implementation of the new framework and provide updates as further guidance becomes available.
