Visa-Free Travel Between Russia and Saudi Arabia
Update – 16 July 2026: Saudi authorities have clarified that the visa exemption for Russian nationals covers tourism, visits to relatives or friends, and certain business activities, including attending business meetings and exploring business or investment opportunities.
Other business-related activities may still require a business visit visa. As detailed guidance remains limited, travelers and employers should assess planned activities before travel to ensure the appropriate immigration permission is obtained.
22 April 2026: From 11 May 2026, citizens of Russia and Saudi Arabia will be able to travel to the other country visa free for tourism purposes for stays of up to 90 days within any 12‑month period. For Saudi nationals visiting Russia, the visa-free arrangement will also extend to business travel.
At this stage, it remains unconfirmed whether Russian nationals will be permitted to enter Saudi Arabia visa free for business activities. Further guidance is expected.
